275. Halloween Costume Party

"Did you get your costume done last night?" asked my girlfriend Audrey in the early morning October 31. "Of course, it was ready, but 're not going to see it until tonight," she . That was a real disappointment. I had been forward to seeing her latest Halloween creation. Audrey a fine seamstress, and every year she makes best costumes for the Halloween parties we try attend. On the other hand, I usually just some old rags on and go as a or a pirate, or something lame like that, not Audrey. She goes all out. Last year, went as a beautiful witch complete with the hat and witch's broom. She looked beautiful.

The tradition is very old in the United States. one really knows how it was first celebrated, it did come from somewhere in Europe. It originally called "All Hallows Eve", and celebrated on day of October. It precedes "All Hallows Day", is a day to honor dead relatives. Today, means parties for the adults and "Trick or " for the kids. "Trick or treating" is where also dress up in costumes and go door door to get candy treats. It's a whole of fun.

Some people say Halloween is a , or Celtic tradition, while others say its roots Christian, but it doesn't really matter anymore. We like to get dressed up like fools, go parties, and eat lots of candy! Audrey finally up at my door. She was strikingly beautiful. was dressed as a fairy princess and was in her white gown. "You look amazing," I her. She just laughed and said, "I know," tapped me with her wand.
